How we work.

Every engagement follows the same engineering discipline: understand the business and the environment, design what fits, implement carefully and keep it running.

We don’t start with the product. We start with the problem.

The process

Four steps, in this order.

The order matters. Technology is chosen after the problem is understood — not before.

  1. Assess

We learn how the business works, what the systems do, what depends on them and what is already in place. Existing infrastructure is evaluated before anything is recommended for replacement.

    • Conversations with management and staff
    • Review of servers, network, backups and access
    • Findings and risks, written down
  2. Design

We propose a solution that fits the business: its requirements, budget, licensing and the people who will live with it. Sometimes that means improving what exists rather than replacing it.

    • Options with trade-offs explained
    • Vendor-neutral technology selection
    • Clear scope before work begins
  3. Implement

Changes are planned, staged and tested to limit disruption, with a way back if something does not behave as expected.

    • Planned change windows
    • Testing and verification
    • Documentation of what was built
  4. Support

After implementation, we can keep the environment running and evolve it as the business grows — as managed or co-managed support.

    • Monitoring and maintenance
    • Troubleshooting
    • Ongoing improvement

Principles

What stays the same on every project.

  • The problem comes before the product.

We recommend technology only after we understand what the business needs, what already exists and what it will take to maintain.

  • Vendor-neutral by default.

We work with open-source and commercial platforms, and with the infrastructure you already have. There is no predetermined stack.

  • Documentation is part of the work.

Configurations, changes and procedures are written down, so your environment does not depend on one person’s memory — including ours.

  • Remote-first, onsite when it matters.

Most work is handled remotely. When the infrastructure or the problem requires physical access, we go onsite in Greater Houston.

  • Plain language, in English or Spanish.

We explain risks and options in terms business owners and managers can act on — in the language you prefer.

Engagement models

Three ways to work together.

The same process, organized around the team you already have.

  1. Managed IT Infrastructure

    Axxis operates your infrastructure.

For businesses without dedicated IT staff.

Axxis manages the critical infrastructure behind the business while management focuses on running the company.

  2. Co-Managed IT Infrastructure

    Axxis extends your IT team.

For businesses with an internal IT team.

We extend your team's capabilities when deeper infrastructure expertise, additional capacity or project support is needed.

  3. Project-Based IT Services

    Axxis delivers a defined objective.

For businesses with a specific technical objective.

    Examples:

    • Server migrations
    • Virtualization
    • Network improvements
    • VPN deployments
    • Backup implementation
    • Infrastructure remediation
    • Assessments

Next step

Start with a conversation.

Tell us what your business depends on and what concerns you. The first step is understanding the problem.
